Early Childhood Development and Policy in a Global Context - Video
The interview is a discussion of early childhood development, rights-based assessment, and policy in a global context. It is an edition of the MacMillan Report - an interview with research scientist Pia Rebello Britto, PhD, from Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, United States. Professor Britto names tools, such as the United Nations Convention on Human Rights and its companion the UN Convention on the Rights of the Childs, as important in mobilising countries through using advocacy developed with a rights-based, research-based lens.
Professor Britto discusses the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) survey used in her research on the 90% of children living in the developing world, particularly children under 5 years of age, in order to balance the lack of research on developing world children and to bring evidence to countries to build policies on early childhood development.
