This series of 8 manuals has been prepared on the basis of CORE's extensive study of the South African experience of elections since the democratic transition in 1994, as well as the experience of many other countries.

The manuals are; Principles of Election Practice, Election Education, Voter Registration, Codes of Election Conduct Political Parties and Elections, Civil Society Monitoring of Elections, The Media and Elections, and Preparing for Election. In these manuals, the essential principles of best election practice and guidance in specific areas of election management are presented. These manuals may be used as training materials for government officials, election administrators, civil society organisations, or the general public.
