Jodha takes a look at traditional village healers whose life and work embody Gandhianism which seeks to respect biodiversity and communal harmony at the grassroots level. He portrays the works of several individuals. Rehmat Khan, of Chur Village (south Gujarat), uses traditional and eco-friendly methods to cure animals and carries the title "Gopal Bapa" by Hindu villagers for being the benefactor of cattle like Lord Gopal (Krishna). Another village healer, Karimbhai, of Virampur village (north Gujarat) is shown using herbs to treat humans, animals and even plants. Each of these men lives simply in places that lack modern medical facilities and they offer their services for free while they hold other jobs.
This documentary film was released in South Asia on February 26 and 27, 2005 and is available on DVD and VCD from Public Service Broadcasting Trust (PSBT).
