Healthy Timing and Spacing of Pregnancy Toolkit

Extending Service Delivery (ESD), a Pathfinder-led United States Agency for International Development (USAID) project, has created an online Healthy Timing and Spacing of Pregnancy (HTSP) Toolkit. An electronic library of resources, the toolkit assembles a collection of counselling, advocacy, and educational materials in one online location. The materials come from multiple organisations and are freely available to health providers and community workers around the world.

The site operates under a continuous publishing principle to ensure that new resources are identified and made available including:

• Research papers discussing the evidence for the benefits of the healthy timing and spacing of pregnancy
• International policy guidance from organisations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and USAID
• Training manuals, materials, and job aids
• Client and public education materials
• Resources for advocating with policy makers, religious leaders, and community members

Included in the toolkit is a series of training videos, divided into three sections. The series can be viewed online in English or in French. Users in developing countries with limited internet access can request this and other K4Health eToolkits on flash drive or CD-ROM by sending an email to toolkits@k4health.org.
