Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

I IGLYO Poster Contest "1st of December - World AIDS Day": Fighting against the Discrimination of HIV-Positive Young People

The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) Youth and Student Organization (IGLYO) invites entries in its World AIDS Day poster contest. It is open to everyone regardless of nationality, country of residence, or age. Submitted work must be original and unpublished.

No syndicated, copyrighted, or clip art is acceptable. Posters should be artistic, positive in approach, and should reflect the diversity of the LGBTQ movement. They will be judged by the IGLYO board using the following criteria:

  • Appropriate and positive approach;
  • Reflection on the diversity of the LGBTQ community;
  • Clear message conveyed by the text and/or artwork;
  • Creativity, originality, and artistic quality;
  • Visual clarity.

 

The selected poster will be used by IGLYO in its health campaigns to fight against the discrimination of HIV-positive young people. It will be also freely available to members and partner organisations. In addition, the winning participant will receive a certificate, an official IGLYO cup, a printed copy of the poster, and a voucher worth €200.
