Intercultural Innovation Award

The Intercultural Innovation Award is a partnership between the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the BMW Group that aims to select and support the grassroots project that encourages intercultural dialogue and cooperation around the world. Winners receive a monetary grant and one-year customised support package to help grow and expand to other contexts, with a first prize of US$50,000.
Not-for-profit organisations that are active in the fields of: migration and integration; intercultural awareness; and education for intercultural citizenship and are focused on the role of specific groups (faith-based, women, youth, media) in promoting intercultural understanding are eligible to apply - as long as they have a track records in managing intercultural projects and willingness to expand their range of action.
The Intercultural Innovation Award will be bestowed upon ten organisations. Winners will become members of the “World Intercultural Facility for Innovation” (WIFI), and the top five will have access to one-year of support and consulting from the UNAOC and the BMW Group.
Email from United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) to The Communication Initiative on June 1 2012.
