The Communication Initiative
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Master of HIV Programme and Short Courses in HIV/AIDS

The Master of HIV combines teaching in clinical and organizational management of HIV.

Training is carried out as a 1-year masters program at the University of Copenhagen. Students will receive training in: HIV epidemiology, HIV and AIDS prevention, sexual and reproductive health and rights, HIV/AIDS treatment and care, health systems, health policy, and HIV/AIDS programming. The focus of the Masters is on HIV and AIDS in an international perspective, and the course program is for all with a clinical, public health, or organizational management interest in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care.

The degree can be taken either as a one-year full-time program, or part time over 2-3 years, allowing for study and work at the same time. For those who do not wish to enroll in a full master's program, intensive short courses are also available allowing specialisation in various directions.

The Master of HIV program has continuous enrolment, with the final deadline for the academic year 2011-2012 on February 1 2011.

Short courses have continuous enrolment, with a final deadline of 3 months before the start of each course.
