YouthARTS Handbook

The YouthARTS website is designed to give arts agencies, juvenile justice agencies, social service organisations, and other community-based organisations detailed information about how to plan, run, provide training, and evaluate arts programmes for at-risk youth. It is based on the results of a project begun in 1995 to, among other goals, define the critical elements and "best practices" of arts programmes designed for at-risk youth populations, to design and test programme evaluation methodologies, and to conduct a rigourous evaluation at three pilot sites of the impact of arts programmes on adolescent behaviour and the risk and protective factors associated with behavioural problems and delinquency.

This book, now out of print and available online, is the product of the project and includes the following chapters:
