2006/7 Commonwealth Photographic Awards
The goal of the Commonwealth Press Union (CPU) photography competition is to offer a view of how people in the Commonwealth see themselves and others in the context of the mixture of races, creeds, cultures and ways of life. It is open to Commonwealth residents for submission of photographs to one of three separate competitions:
- The Regional/Overall Category award is on the theme "Achievement". The Overall Prize is UK£1,000.
- The Canberra Times/CPU Young Photographer residency award will be offered to a young person, aged 21-25, from a developing country. The prize is a three-week photographic residency at the Canberra Times offices in Canberra, Australia.
- The "Three Pictures - One Story" award invites entrants to create a storyboard. The purpose is to tell a story of achievement in three pictures. The prize for this Award is UK£250.
All entrants must be over 18 years of age.
Deadline for applications is April 27 2007.
