Development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Aims and Objectives of the Review [Review of Kam Pussum Hed (KPH) Clinic]

Summary

The overall aim of the Review was to assess the current operations of the KPH Clinic with a view towards improvement of reproductive health services provided by this health facility. The objectives of the review were:

  1. To assess the current situation of KPH operations in the light of meeting the reproductive health needs of target communities.
  2. To document the achievements of KPH since its establishment
  3. To identify programme needs and challenges and to use these findings to strengthen services at KPH Clinic.
  4. To share the results of the Review with other Stakeholders as lessons learnt and to identify greater areas of collaboration in promoting reproductive health in Vanuatu.


Specific Objectives

The review planned to produce specific outputs as follows:

  1. Review of KPH Clinic design in terms of its suitability as a reproductive health facility
  2. Review the different components of KPH Clinic in terms of:
    • 2.1 The Clinic operations
    • 2.2 The Community Education and Outreach Programme
    • 2.3 The Peer Education Programme
