After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Marie Stopes International Internship - People and Development

This internship programme offers the opportunity to acquire practical experience of Marie Stopes International (MSI)'s work under the direct supervision of experienced MSI team members. As part of the People and Development team, you will work alongside the Head of International Human Resources (HR) in London, United Kingdom (UK) to provide generalist HR support to the international division (including International Assignees), handling queries and preparing paperwork. You will also work on specific projects including reviewing HR tools and innovations of external organizations, as well as employment law developments for implementation across the team. Strong theoretical knowledge of employment law combined with some previous work experience is essential to this role. Candidates should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive and innovative approach to work.

MSI is one of the largest international family planning organizations in the world. They are a marketing-focused, results-oriented social enterprise that develops family planning programmes in the UK and 43 countries around the world.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must be a currently enrolled graduate in an HR Management-related field planning to take a gap year from your studies. The programme will last for up to 9 months to begin in October 2010. The programme attracts a monthly stipend of £880.
