Toward an Integral Model for Attention to Intrafamily Violence in Central America

This report presents the final results of a participatory evaluation of the project Toward an Integral Model for Attention to Intrafamily Violence in Central America: Final Report (Hacia un Modelo Integral de Atención de la Violencia Intrafamiliar en Centro América: Informe Final), which seeks to generate an intrasectorial response to intrafamily violence against women at the community level in Central America. The report highlights strengths and challenges of the process. Among strengths, the report mentions some of achievments in terms of giving more visbility to intrafamily violence as a public health problem in the region. and the support given to countries to generate responses to this issue. The document also highlights some of the challenges to be faced in the future such as the need to find greater political committmment in some countries and the need to provide materials for educational and social movilization activities.
